Kent Sinson

Kent Sinson is a personal injury trial attorney in Chicago, Illinois. Since 2000, Mr. Sinson has proudly advocated for victims in personal injury cases throughout Northern Illinois and the surrounding areas.
A native of Elmhurst, IL, Mr. Sinson received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. He also played varsity hockey and varsity football during each of his four years at Hamilton. Mr. Sinson went on to attend DePaul University College of Law where he was a member of the trial advocacy team, and he received his Juris Doctor in 1987. Upon his admission to the Illinois Bar in that same year, he went to work in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
As a prosecutor, Mr. Sinson was a staunch advocate for crime victims, and he was responsible for a caseload that included murder, rape, and armed robbery cases. For several years, he was the lead prosecutor in a felony courtroom at the 26th and California courthouse. During his time at the State's Attorney's Office, he took more than 50 felony cases to full jury trials, gaining vast courtroom experience and polishing his skills as a seasoned litigator.
Throughout his tenure as a State's Attorney, Mr. Sinson sought justice on behalf of crime victims. In 2000, Mr. Sinson went into private practice but remained focused on helping innocent victims. Today, he represents those who have been injured in different ways. As a personal injury attorney, his clients are now those who have been harmed by negligence, corporate greed, and discrimination. He handles transportation accidents, medical negligence injuries, product liability, environmental cases, and other cases in which companies or entities place priorities on profits over people.
Mr. Sinson refuses to allow defense attorneys and insurance companies to bully his clients, and he takes more cases to trial than any other attorney in the Chicago area. With more than 30 years of courtroom experience and over a decade of teaching trial advocacy at DePaul University College of Law, Mr. Sinson not only knows and understands the law, he also understands what motivates people. He is able to use his knowledge and skills to help a jury see the case from his client's perspective, an approach which has helped him establish an impressive history of success.
Obtaining compensation in a personal injury case is all about civil justice, and Mr. Sinson takes immense satisfaction in getting just results for those who have been hurt. He recognizes that most injured victims wish the accident had never happened and that money is not a perfect solution. A favorable settlement or verdict, however, can provide a victim with the opportunity to more fully recover and rebuild their lives.
Insurance companies often place their own profits over fair and just compensation for victims who have been injured by the people they insure. Mr. Sinson understands what it takes to break through that mindset and get fair offers for his clients. Without full, fair, and just compensation, however, he will not hesitate to go to trial and persuade the jury that the defendant acted badly and that the victim's injuries are profound. Because he charges on a contingent fee basis and fronts the costs associated with the prosecution, his clients do not pay unless they win.
Community Involvement
Mr. Sinson is a proud member of numerous organizations and associations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, and the Illinois chapter of the National Employment Lawyers of America. He also provides pro bono legal services for the local Polish community through Amicus Polonia, and has served for the last decade as a Precinct Captain in the 44th Ward Democrats organization.
In his spare time, Mr. Sinson enjoys recreational and competitive sports. He has played for the Chicago Lawyers hockey team for the last 25 years and has run the Chicago Marathon three times. He also volunteers with Hockey on Your Block, an organization that gives underprivileged and minority youth the opportunity to learn to play the great sport of ice hockey. He currently resides in Lakeview, IL.
